Old Car: I hada 5 Speed Maruti 800 that I exchanged against new Hyundai Getz.Honestly speaking I was really Happy with my 800 and Maruti’s service.New Car: I went for base model of Hyundai Getz 1.1 GLE
Due to my budget.
I never wanted power windows
I hate the new wooden finish offered by Hyundai. It looks ugly!
Getz is very big inside, however from outside you will never notice how big the car is from inside
Size and shape looks very attractive
Why GLE?
GLE Costed me in Pune 4.02 Lacks with Dec offers. Also I lovecustomizing things! I installed Pioneer 2150 Music system with USB, Aux, FM Radio, CD, MP3-WMA supported system with Philips Speakers. Ifitted central locking for 3600/- without breaking any warranty.
Alternatives I looked:LOGAN:Before trying Getz I looked at Mahindra Logan. - I could notfit into drivers seat in the base model of 1.4. Logan. Otherwise I hadmade up my mind for Logan. However one test drive changed everything, Inoticed I couldn’t comfortably fit into Loagn. I was unable to close mylegs in drives sear as steering wheel was coming in between. 1.4 Loganthat was within my Budget was too slow in Pickup and Power. I felt myMaruti is lot faster. I couldnot appreciate Logan!
*SWIFT:I don’t like Maruti Swift.
a. For my height the seat adjustment I do does not give enough space to the person sitting behind me.
b. Its a car for 4 and not for 5 people *
UV-A:I did not like the looks of UV-A, I feel it looks outdated even if your car is new! and it is smaller than Getz.i20: The day ibooked my Getz I saw i20 getting launched. The price difference betweenGetz base model and i20 base model was of 1 lack rupees and due to thesame I didnot consider i20 as it was out of my budget. Also note i20 isidentical with Getz specs in size & shape. However i20 offers greatlevel of security.My Budget was max 4.5 lacks and because of same I did not consider any other car .
Why Getz.I like the roomy Getz, even with my seat adjustment person sitting behind me gets ample of space.3 People can comfortably sit on back seat. Offers good boot space of 290 liters. Ride is very smooth and quite. Gear change is super smooth
Dealer & Delivery:I purchased my car from Kothari Hyndai Pune and he deliveredme the car on given date. The only problem was I could not get thedemanded color from him as Real earth color was not available in Decstock. He took 2 working days for delivery from the date I made mycomplete payment.
Paint Job:Paint job on car is good however I felt there are black spotson some areas giving the evidence that car was kept in godown forsometime.
Product Quality:Quality of the car product is awsome. For me its a majorupgrade from my previouse 800. I didnot find a single complain onProduct quality. Plastic quality is very nice. Steering wheel gives astrong and big car feeling.
Driving in City:I daily travel around 6 KM. I always felt that 2nd gear is not in rhythm with 1st and 3rd one.Driving on Hightway:Driving on Hightway is breeze! So far I have driven only 320KM in a day. I felt the grip of the car is awesome. Even on high speedturns car sticks to the road and without a noise of tyres. I wasimpressed by the breaking power of the car. 3rd gear onwards car getsinto perfect rhythm and over taking becomes breeze. Car is so smooth onroad that even after driving 300+ KM I never felt tired.
Negatives:
2nd gear must be in sync with 1st one. 2nd gear leaves a feeling on under power
There should be a proper gauge to view the Car engine temperature
A full toolkit should have been provided.
Dash board can have more storage
