This man has shaped my life .Dale carnegie has made a major influence on how I approach my worries and concerns and deal with them. I happened to read all his books before I turned 16. Unfortunately I was born a worrier .its a habit I had to break.
After reading this book I went into a deep state of relaxation and was sleeping like a baby within minutes of hitting the pillow. I still remember the wisdom to live in day-Tight- compartments
or " lead me light, one step enough for me "
or " Give my my daily bread"- made me realize we should live in the present moment
and not cross our bridges before we reach them .
Here I would also like to bring to you all an example that is so practical, so sensible:
of how we should think of life as an hourglass and do our tasks slowly and evenly like the sand grain that passes through the narrow neck 1 at a time .
He talked me through the 4 good working habits.Like, do things in the order of their importance.
I still remember the words that still make a lot of sense
"The High cost of getting Even " or "No one was ever killed by insomnia"
Or worry about insomnia does more damage than insomnia itself
or these words still ring in my ears load and clear
"99% of the things we worry about never actually happen"
My only regret I never met him in person.he died before I was born but he will continue to guide me and others who need him
Some souls never die . I am fortunate enough to have read and used every word he wrote in all his books .
At 16 I was young and innocent I was searching for the meaning of the phrase - happiness is only a matter of internals not externals .few months later I knew what he meant when I broke the worry habit.
This book has been my Bible, my geeta, my knowledge storehouse over all these years and I still have to re-read it from time to time to keep the mind trained.
These words flow directly from my heart, I have mentioned this on my website qualitylessons.net home page . its not for the sake of this review that I have to knight him . I am a teacher who didn't have the guts to stand in front of the crowd and speak without getting flustered .
Till I read his book on public speaking.today all I do is speak all day using his principles of weightage and specificity .if my reviews make any impact at all, I owe it to Dale Carnegie.
You can pick up any of his books and I will remember most of the content, they are all worth their weight in gold. His manner of writing was interesting and easy to understand .
He spoke more specific than general, punctuated with examples and illustrations .
He swayed masses by his best- sellers that will shine in history forever .
