Customer service was supposed to be the cornerstone of service industry...maybe I learnt wrong from some one I thought was a leader in marketing thoughts etc.

I recently took a Hotwire connection in Noida after a couple of friends recommended it. Their service in Sector 19 Noida run by a cable guy called Rukku was absolutely absymal.

First their guy said until paid in full he will not connect and show what kind of service we would get. After he connected it would never give downloads of more than 4.5 which he insisted was BROADBAND. Their down time was as high as 50% and sometimes the technicians would say the problem is only in your connection and we don’t know how to fix it. So within 10 days totally fed up with them, I asked for my money back.
 
I was not only refused, but they would never pick up the phone to answer queries or anything. They finally gave me a weeks extra subscription, because I made such a fuss. I met the COO of a sister concern of theirs, handling Wireless connections to corporate sector and when I mentioned this problem, his response was ’’how can you expect high download speeds in a shared connection....even if we brand it broadband.’’ so much for Primus being an MNC and a world moving towards better customer responsiveness.
 
He only showed up how ingrained in Indian companies is the ’’seller’s market’’ mentality. They are doing a favour to us if they come to check their installation. Do they realize that we pay their salaries and the fewer of us choose them higher their chances of not getting paid....this is called basic business economics. I don’t know I should go get a new education or hope that they will get one really soon.
