Hotwire- from Ok to Worse!

I have been using Hotwire for the past 7 months at my home in Charmwood Village, Faridabad. It was a pleasant experience initially since I was used to dialups or working at better speeds at the
office. So a hassle-free always on connection and a great download speed summed up the good experience.

As months passed by, the reliability came down drastically. It became increasingly difficult to connect. And surprisingly, our local vendor didn’t have a power backup to support it! Their central support centre didn’t have any solution for it.

Once this was resolved after constant complaints, the connection simply refused to work. In fact, they came out with this idea to make it a monthly ’’pre-paid’’ connection. So they wanted to collect the money beforehand to counter the fraud cases. But I guess they wanted to avoid getting non-payments from irate customers who didn’t get their money worth! This switch over happened without informing us. So one fine day, when this was not connecting, I called up the support (again got thru only after about 40 mins of constant calling!).
 
They informed me about the change and how I need to get a userid and a password every month when I pre-pay the bill. To make the matters worse, the only local ’rude’ support with a mobile phone has quit the job and now the landline says ’temporarily disconnected’! All this inspite of the fact that I was always paying my bills on time!!!

The matters have come to a head now! Whenever I can connect, I stare at a blank screen for so long that I can easily doze without the danger of missing any action. Just to give you an idea, the mouthshut homepage took about 5 mins to open and then I had to take a bath before the login happened! Crossing my fingers to see if this gets posted. Well, it took me another try at reconnecting.

Their new application to ’’check’’ the download speeds never shows the speed to be lower than 6000 Kbps! God help us if this is it:)

I am about to shift to my new house, and I hope I can get a better ISP support. Any idea about the new MTNL broadband promise???
