Went there in mid march 2008. A friend of mine booked the place.

Location and View:
It is located very close to the lake. But don’t expect to get the view of the lake. Infact you cannot even see even a single bit of the lake.

Decor:
The place is old and broken down, room decor was very bad, lighting and quality of bed and blankets were below standard. It felt like you were staying in a poor quality lodge.

Privacy:
No privacy, you can hear people talking in the next room. And they have huge plain glass windows to bedroom and living room, which can be clearly seen from the pathway or internal road. Don’t feel like opening the screens.

Food:
Food was ok and reasonably priced, but not something great. Did not want to risk trying non veg. Stayed safe with veg. Ordered for coffee in the morning and I got it in a flask which had some dirt near the tip. Did not even drink it.

Environment:
We stayed in ooty for 3 days, saw all the main attractions in first two days. Just wanted to relax on the final day, but did not even feel like coming back to the room and staying. We just wasted time driving around ooty and tried avoiding coming back to hotel as much as possible.

Suggestion:
There are much better places in ooty, try the hotels in church hill. They are pretty good. Don’t make the mistake of staying in this hotel. Yes if you are planning to go with a bunch of friends just to drink and need some cheap place and which should be located very close to city, then go ahead book this place.
