Located in very busy location in South Kolkata, Hotel Sathi often gets crowded. I visited this place so many time in my life, that I lost the count.
The ambiance is not much sophisticated, and it will not attract you initially. Anyways, what I like about this restaurant, is they are really maker of good food. Being a foodie, I always believe in dining in an peaceful surrounding, interior decoration with artistic stuffs comes later only for me. So, Hotel Sathi with no fancy interior did not make harsh impact in my mind.
Let me tell you, they offer as usual everything like a multi cuisine restaurant. But, as this place is very close to Gariahat market, which is prime shopping zone. Hotel Sathi offers plain rice, egg curry rice, veg rice, fish curry rice from 11 AM to 3 PM. So, the place gets really crowded during this time, lots of people do lunch here.
They also offer both Mutton and Chicken Biryani. You will get mutton dishes like Mutton Curry, Mutton Kasha, Mutton Do Piaza etc. On Chicken dishes like Chicken Curry, Chicken Kadai, Chicken Butter Masla, Chicken Bharta, Chicken Masla. They also make delicious Keema dishes like Keema Tarka, Keema Curry etc.
Hotel Sathi also provides Chinese items and they are really popular for the visitors here. Some of the worth mentioning items are Chilly Chicken( With Bone and Bone less), Chilly Fish, Garlic Chicken, Chicken Manchurain. They also make Egg fried rice, Chicken Fried Rice, Prawn Fried Rice, Mixed Fried Rice etc.
If you are a tandoori lover, they have various options for you in the form of Chicken Reshmi Kabab, Chicken Tikka Kabar, Chicken Hariyali Kabab, Tikka Butter Masla, Fish Kabab etc. All these items are just mouth watering. You can have Chicken Tandoori too.
They make great Rolls, a must have for most of the Kolkatans in evening time. I saw the mad rush for Roll in Hotel Sathi during festival time. You will get Egg Roll, Double Egg Roll, Egg chicken Roll, Double Chicken Roll, Paneer Roll, Tikia Roll.
Now, coming to veggie front, Hotel Sathi has a lot more things to offer! They make good quality naan, roti, kulcha, laccha paratha that can go great with both veg and non veg items.
Anyways, some of the worth mentioning items on veg front are Mixed Vegetable, Chana Masala, Paneer Butter Masala, Malai Kofta, Sahi Paneer, Palak Paneer, Matar Paneer, Kashmiri Aloor Dum etc. I tasted all these items and taste is great!
Do you love Punjabi flavour on your dish? Hotel Sathi makes one of the best tarkas in South Kolkata. You will have plain tarka fry, egg tarka fry, chicken tarka fry, mutton tarka fry. all these items are simply lip smacking. They also make excellent Dal fry and Dal makhani. I can complete my dinner or lunch with their dal fry and naan only. They taste so good!
If you are a lover of cold items, just taste their Kulfi to sum up your meal.
Prices of all these items are not much and you can rarely complain about the food quantity too. So, this is a pocket friendly place, no doubt.
With the variations of food items, great taste, and quick service are the main three qualities of this hotel. Ambiance does not matter much when your stomach is satisfied, you just want to get clean and hygienic food in a healthy environment. Though a bit clumsy and often congested, Hotel Sathi ranks very high if I choose my top 10 restaurants in South Kolkata.
