After two months of intensive research I opted for Honda City ZX Gxi in April 2007.
This one is amazing.Honda does not make any aggressive advertisement of its cars and hence people by and large arent aware of facts.Honda is selling on its reputation.
Honda city gxi is tesimony to the company’s philosophy.
Even the sales guys at the showroom smile and shrug saying they dont have to do any hard work, when a costomertakes a test drive he/she simply falls in love and buys this piece of excellence!!
The pick-up is less due to lesser bhp,but more than enough for urban drive and you really dont feel deprived when you get used to it.
The look and styling is particularly evident in white and black colours.Eyes take longer time to adjust to its looks in other colours.
Interiors of gxi are brilliantly designed.The dash board given darkish colour to avoid its reflection in to the windscreen,the windows are wide,the seats comfortable, with driver seat height adjustment in gxi.enough leg room.the back seats too very comfortable.wooden decorative work gives a classy feel.
New gxi has stiffer suspensions improving its ground clearance compared to the earlier versions.
Boot space is roomiest in its segment of cars.
Drive comfort is simply out of the world.I dont know why Ford fiesta is so hyped up as "driver’s car". Probably just because the front ends are clearly visble and the seat well placed. But Honda city gives aerodynamic front with smaller hood,the end of the front not visible to the driver, but as you drive you get used to it and then realise that in fact this smaller hood helps in taking small turns in city traffic !!
Power stearing is amazingly smooth and light,almost unbeleivable.
Gear shifts extreamly smooth. Honda city’s gear box is considered the best anyway.
Airconditioning is fairly fast and comfortable.
The brand value is a bonus.
Its foolish to compare any american car with a japanese car, hence comparing any other petrol car   in C-segment with Honda Zx is madness.
In the city its giving me 14 to 15km/L and on high ways 18 to 20km/L!!!with mileage of that sorts even deisel cars pale in my view.
Buy paying a few thousand Rs more you buy a car which is a better machine,a better brand and a piece of mind for 5 to 7 years therafter.
those who want to buy a family car and plan to keep it with them for long, this car will outlast their expectations.
