Honda CB Unicorn premium means simply the best among all 150 cc

· I am a working professional from Pune. Previously for last 7 years I used Hero Honda Splendor Plus which was my first bike and also using a Hyundai car since last 5 years.  HH Splendor is really majesty, one of the most prominent model of Hero Honda. No doubt HH Splendor is a number one bike in 100 cc but with less driving comfort.

In 2011 I was in need of a good two wheeler. So I started searching for a good 125/150 cc bike.

· After analyzing lot of bikes I settled down on few models 1. Honda Shine, 2. Hero Honda Hunk and 3. Honda CB Unicorn.

· Honda Shine: I faced neck pain and back pain after using my splendor for 3-4 years so there was no point in purchasing a similar kind of a bike. But Honda Shine is really good bike for those people who needs a light weight bike with more power, pick up as well as a good mileage. It’s more comfortable than Splendor plus.

· Hero Honda Hunk: I was pretty much impressed by this muscular bike with very good look and power. It’s truly one of the good bike in 150 cc. But I drop my idea of buying this bike only because of its seating design and mileage. This bike is very good for college going guys, bachelors. It’s not good for a family person because of its seating arrangement as a family person with a kid can’t travel comfortably on this bike. I suggest bachelors who are not going to get married in at least 4-5 years can definitely think of this muscle Hunk.

A person who looks for style comfort can also think of a excellent new CBZ extreme with gas filled shock absorbers(not the old one with telescopic shock absorbers).  Both Hunk and CBZ bikes are excellent with reasonable mileage @ 40-45 km/ltr. One drawback in HH Hunk’s is that its gear shifting is not smooth.

Honda CB Unicorn:- This is a truly a wing rider and suitable for all persons. It’s an excellent bike with good style, power, comfort and mileage. I got this bike in July 2011 after 2.5 months waiting. I have completed 1400 Kms and after first service I am getting a mileage of @60 km/ltr J. But before first service I hardly got @ 40 Km/ltr. I am a smooth rider not exceeding 55 km/hr.

I opt this bike as comfort was my first criteria. I found this bike the most comfortable, reliable and safe to drive(good control because of constant and smooth acceleration). Unicorn’s engine is very smooth and reliable.

There are few drawbacks with this bike-

  1. Gear shifting problem from neutral to first gear

  2. Honda has not provided a city light

  3. Electrical cabling is not upto the mark

  4. Rear design should be improved so that bike will look muscular.(Honda Dazzlers rear design looks good compared to CB Unicorn. But in overall CB Unicorn looks more royal compared to new Honda Dazzler.)

  5. Monosuspension doesn't perform well on rough roads.

  6. Many people face neck and back pains.

  7. Low mileage.
