I drive a Honda City bought in 2014, bought with the belief in Honda brand. I ensured that it was regularly serviced in an authorized Honda service center. However, the clutch plates, as well as pressure plate and flywheel of the car have gone bad in less than 10, 000 kms. It was really tough to drive the car for the last few weeks, considering it could just give away at any point on the road. Finally the service center had to replace them, which has cost me more than INR 25000.
I have discussed with other New Honda City owners and many have faced the problem of the clutch plates and had to get it replaced under 10000 kms. Scores of other Honda City owners have also complained about this online, which makes it clear that there is a design problem with the clutch plates. I can link those threads here for your information.
Besides the monetary loss, it is also a mental harassment for the car owners, including me, who have had to bear the uncertainty of a new car working far worse than expected. Though I wrote a mail to your customer care and PR teams, they refused to acknowledge the problem and are trying to shift the blame on me and other customers.
As a globally trusted brand, you are expected to deliver a genuine product and not shoddy products which fail fast. As a customer bearing good faith in your brand, I deserve an explanation how a new car could have its products wear and tear within 10000 kms. I expect you to acknowledge the problem, get an explanation from your side and be compensated for my loss.
