The new HONDA CITY is quite an attention grabber. There is lot of glaring band of chrome on the nose with slim and delicate headlights. The looks are bigger and broader for this 2014 model with the most fuel efficient diesel engine under the hood in this segment. Strong in chassis, light on weight and clever engineering has made this car the most preffered car in its segment.
Back seat is very impressive and knee room is ample for a 6 feet tall person to stretch. Thigh support on rear seat is fantastic and extends till knee. Overall comfortable rear seat with AC vents, two power outlets and arm support with glass holder.
The front seat with respect to driver and co-passenger creates a wow factor. Big change in design, plush dashboard, upmarket feeling, piano black finish, 5" LCD display, touch screen control for air conditioning system, steering wheel feels chunky with on board controls with sun roof on top end model. All seats are spacious and comfortable with respect to city and highway driving.
Under the hood is 1.5L diesel and petrol engine with 6 speed manual gear box. Fourth generation car is 40 kgs lighter than its predecessor. Company claims new diesel i-dtec engine will give 26 kms/ltr mileage which is the best in its segment with 160BHP power and 14.8 kgms of torque. Petrol engine comes with manual and automatic transmission variants.
Dynamics have been redesigned extensively on this new platform. Ride quality is smooth and comfortable and suspension can mask bumpy roads without any effort.
Fourth generation Honda City is more mature, grown up and well rounded package.
