I have got my stunner (Red, self drum) on 27-8-2008. I m aged 21 and remember that I am not a Streetracer but just wanted a good looking bike with good acceleration, handling and reasonable mileage to drive in city of destiny(Vizag). I just completed 1400km. so far, happy and satisfied with the bike. First to start with
DESIGN AND LOOKS:
When I entered the showroom, I stunned to see that the front look is absolutely sporty with meaty cowl. This is why the bike has got its name. Head light is not attached to handle thus reduced weight on handle. you can compare the design only with karizma, but it has slim look.
No other bike comes closer in looks. It has got length and height more than what I expected from the pictures.The color combination of red , metallic black and metalic silver is superb.yellow backsprings are major contributors of look from back.(I miss them on unicorn)
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE:
The engine is said to be same as shine but changed to give power 11bhp @8000 RPM, torque 11Nm @6500 RPM compared to 10.3bhp of shine ( 1 bhp= 1.339 KW, 1 bhp=0.98 PS, 1 PS= 1.358 KW ). The engine beats like a true sports bike........ when I accelerate, I like it.
The real stunning is with its acceleration. it doesn't jump immediately with throttle but after a fraction of second it's an arrow, gives a feel of taking me into air.
THE COMPANY'S STATS ARE 0 to 60KMPH ACCELERATION IN 5.2 SEC FOR STUNNER AND 5 SEC FOR PUL-150 AND CBZ EACH. Next is carburetor, the same CV type carburetor which is also used in pul, cbz and unicorn.
SELF:
The ignition is smooth(Digital CDI multi mapping) and the switch is just press and release(unlike the noisy pulsar). U can start in any gear by holding clutch. This is very useful in traffic.
KICK:
Starting for single kick even at morning, but you need to close the footstep and then kick to start vehicle (little cumbersome in all sports vehicles).
TRANSMISSION:
Again amazed to see that the bike is picking up from 25kmph speed in 5th gear without touching clutch, And picking nicely at all ups in 5th gear with my brother at back.
so, there are no frequent shifts. I went upto 98kmph and, the bike is smooth but there is little vibration felt on the handle from 70 kmph and above.Below that it is EXCELLENT in every aspect. It has a constant mesh gearbox with 5 gears. No need of 1st gear, u can start in 2nd from rest (even in 5th), from 3rd smoothness increasing to 5th along with enough torque. pattern 1st down, 4up with half -lever, no problem in shifting though I m new to this pattern.
SUSPENSION:
FRONT:
Telescopic hydraulic fork, Experiencing soft & superb suspension for RIDER.
REAR:
Spring loaded hydraulic, HARD and not giving smoothness with only rider, but improved when there is a person at back.Backseat got EXTRA HEIGHT AND BUMPY, so I prefer rider seat always. The seats are WIDE and have perfect upright seating posture. I went 60km at a streatch on Highway and ride is good.
TYRES:
FRONT 80/100-17 TUBELESS, REAR 100/90-17 TUBELESS (But air filled directly in tyre) and got good width like pulsar. The advantage is lesser probability to puncture and burst and we can
travel tens of kilometres without patching even after puncture. It has black alloy wheels(Rims). Most enjoyable thing is, it corners like race bike........The road gripping and balance is simply outstanding........
BRAKES:
It is better to go for disc(240mm) at front but not avilable in the showroom now, I took drum brake. No big difference at low speeds. Back is common 130mm drum for all models.
ELECRICALS:
Good Head light(35W), tail lamp brighter than others, meter conslole has analog speedometer with trip meter , fuelguage meter with regular signal, neutral indicators and has a red background lights inside meters. I like analog than digital meters. I FEEL SAD not having a Tachometer to see RPM.
MILEAGE:
I got a STUNNING 59.6 km/litre mileage.............before first service. It travelled 495 km with 8.3 litre.The driving is 60% on highway and the rest in the city, though I drive it 50-60kmph speed, I don't mind giving it a full throtttle below 60kmph.
The fuel tank(8+2 ltr reserve) has AEROTYPE cap comes out completely with key. BUT I DOUBTED WATER MAY ENTER THROUGH AIR GAP AT TANK WHEN ITS IN RAIN. I had to put it in rain but nothing went wrong.
WARRANTY:
Std 2yr + 3yr extendable with extra 750 Rs on engine. I dont know about reliability of honda but I heared its a good company. But service centers are less in comparison.

10KM/LITRE EXTRA MILEAGE
10KG LESS WEIGHT TO FEEL LIGHT (129kg with fulltank )
EASY TO TURN AND HANDLING
made me to take the bike than an 150cc.
I got my stunner for 59, 000/-( ~1500/- extra if disc) on road with all except registration.
I Stongly recommend the bike if u are a youngster but not racer. I advise you to see and test ride stunner. My next option would be cbz x-treme, after that pul-200(17.6 bhp, for racers). Ride all the bikes, select according to your wish& feel.
