good in HomeTown Bangalore.
                    

                    
Its a spacious shopping place.  Take your own time to check and see.  People are good there.  You get measuring tape to measure the various furniture for fitment etc.  HomeTown is a good place for browsing various models in lot of things from furniture to electrical fittings  etc. etc.  Its a one stop shop for lot of good stuff. 

There is a Bosch powertool section. Wish they had more models and different equipments.  For electrical fittings such switches etc. you can see different varieties/thypes available in the market and decide what will fit our requirements.  I liked the setup and location of Bangalore. 

Whats NOT Good

After sales service is pathetic.

My Experience

I went twice. First time was to browse and explore.  That my very fist visit to this shop.  I am really impressed with their show-case.  Very nicely organised and help ful people around. 

Dont expect too much about the material, quality, type of wood(like teak or rubber wood etc) or board used in the furniture.  Those floor guys does not know all that.  They simply tell you whats written on those small detail board kept on the items.  Nothing more than that.

We liked the couch and Cot/Slider Bed.  Decided to order the Slider bed.  Went Second time to order the slider bed.  This is where the whole problem started for me. 

I was told that If i make part payment my delivery will be delayed by 3 -5 days.  If i make full payment, they will deliver the item to my home in 2 - 3 days.  The date of delivery is also given in the receipt they gave me.  So i made full payment expecting for an early delivery.

There are 2 telephone numbers given and its their Call Center number it seems.   So many calls daily and after almost 7 days or so, the slider bed was delivered to my home.

Please note:  The Guy who delivered was so adamant that I have to give him money after the delivery.  As token of appreciation someone can ask or request for a TIP, it works most of the time and I am fine with that.  However, the way it was said and expectation etc.  it was very awkward and I did not like it a bid.  Very bad manners.

Now the delivery done and time for fixing the BED.

I have to call them to schedule for fixing the slider bed.  Another 2 - 3 days to get someone in my home to fix it.  Finally the 2 guys came.

When the guys came to fix the Slider bed, one of the component was not as I saw in the show-room.  It was a small change but I did not expect that.  In order to fix the problem, they have to manually cut some sheets, sand the sheet, put some clamps etc. some for carpentary work.  This defeats the very purpose of buying a ready-to-use furniture. 

From an professional organisation like HomeTown i did not expect it.  At last, I have to take the carpenter around  my home looking for certain components in a hardware shop.

After so much of hassle, I got the furniture fixed in my home.   I have to wait and see about the quality of the material, long term stability of the item i bought. 

Can I get it done with quality, workman-ship for same or less price outside. YES.  I can.
