I do not recommend HomeDepot.   I still purchase at Home Depot but for things I know I wil not return or ever have a need to return.   I would not buy anything that is electrical in nature or that has any moving components.   I bought a tile table saw with the HomeDepot brand name.   Great saw for the money but a part broke.   It was after their 90 warrantee.  I need the part but hey, guess what?  They do not have one.  They never had one.  Nor will they ever get one.   There are no parts for this table saw.  I got a run around at the store I bought this at.  Searched high and low for the part on the internet.  They found a blog that said no parts were available.   What kind of place would see something where you could not buy a replacement part for it?   I have purchased thousands of dollars in merchandise from both Home Depot and Lowes.   I am finishing my basement.  I have revised my plans a few times and needed to take unused merchandise back.  Lowes took it back with no problems.   Home Depot would not after 90 days.  Lowes took things back over a year later (I still had the receipts).   

Also, the customer service is much better at Lowes.  Can actually find someone to help you.  Home Depot they are not as helpful or friendly.   Why is that?   Does the managment train their associates differently?   For the big ticket I will always buy from Lowes.
