Story:

Sarah Macdonald is so frank from the beginning to the end that this book Holy Cow is one of the most straightforward no bull s books I have read.

Its written in an amusing style, meant to be read in a casual manner but at the same time touches different issues relating to spirituality. She talks about her journey to India and all the exciting nd amusing incidents during her long stint as a traveller in India.Well quite frankly this is what I learnt and liked about the book:-

1.I didn't have to use a dictionary-The book has been written in a simple style using simple practical words.

2.I learnt that Preity Zinta smokes privately but of course tells journalists not to write about it.

3.I learnt that Rajneesh, founder of Osho had many Rolls Royces in US nd faced a lot of tax problems.

4.Sai Baba supposedly has been seen taking the moon from the sky, cure cancer and perform other miracles but at the same time he is accused of sexual exploitation of foreigners.

5.You get 21 types of Mutton in Kashmir

6.Got a general idea about the different faiths ,namely, Jainism, Hinduism, Islam ,Buddhism, Christianity, Sufism, Zoroastrianism,Sikhism nd others.Different Important temples of the religions in India. The type of people who believe in the faiths.

7.Dalai Lama eats meat even though he has tried to turn vegetarian. So The meat eating Buddhists do not kill, but it seems unfair that they get Muslims to kill animals for them. While Muslims don't think the killing is sinful, surely the Buddhists must worry about the Muslims bringing bad karma upon themselves for the sake of Tibetan tummies?

8.This book is a lot of fun to read to see how the author views India nd how she criticises and also loves the country.

9.Enough, now if you want to know more READ THE BOOK!I liked it much more than ''The Rope In The Water'' by Sylvia Fraser (A similar Book).
