Story:

Thanks first of all to the Indian piracy market :-P I bought this beautiful book for.....mmm...I think Rs.80/-......I don't remember exactly. Its a good elaboration of the Spiritual, Cultural, Regional, Religious & Emotional India. Lately, I had been eyeing this book in the "Travels Section" of Big Book Malls like, Landmark, Crossword, etc. and I wondered whether it was a travel book !!! Coz Sarah rather stayed in India, than a tourist...but, anyway, I guess its the closest Section into which this book can fit in :-)

So, I suggest a reading of this book to all.......even though for patriotic indians/hindus rather it could sound too cynical at places (for me too, honestly)......nevertheless is it not bad to get a hang of  the expressions of a western mind !!! Its always good to get a perspective from varied angles..........and most important, there is a touch of genuineness, truthfulness about the whole writing....thats most important, not to mention Sarah's explicit comical style of presentation. And I am sure its an art...it also shows the writer's inner optimism and lighter side of looking at life (its a gift :)

Just some mistakes in the book, I thought, and its quite normal knowing the variety that India offers:

  1. There is a Character named Harilal, author explains the meaning as Green=Hari & Red=Lal :-)

A Normal Indian will know that Hari means THE GOD (I am cutting it short) and Lal means CHILD...so Harilal means GOD'S CHILD....Hariprasad means GOD'S OFFERING...Haricharan means GOD'S FEET, like that :-P

  1. When Vivek & Simi get married; at the time of "First Glance" between the Bride and the Groom, they see each other through Banana leaves. BANANA LEAVES !!! Well, thats possible, but in a Bengali wedding, as in the story, its Bettle leaves.....maybe the Author has forgotten or misunderstood or there was shortage of Bettle leaves in the market at the time the incident occured :):):)

  2. Author explains the mythological Character "RAM" as a prince born in 900 BC !!!! :-) 900 BC???

I think "KRISHNA" is 3000 BC..........."RAM" CANNOT BE AFTER "KRISHNA"...IMPOSSIBLE !!! Please don't check......just go on reading the book. Its worth it and it won't make any difference :-)

  1. There is a mention of OSHO, named as "Raj Neesh".......the correct way of writing is "Rajneesh"....Oh I forgot, I read a pirated version.....Anything is possible !!! :-) hahahhahaa.....

Thats all :-) Happy Reading !!!
