Story:

The first time I read this book I thought it was boring! It definitely wasn?t what I expected it to be! I had read the Lord of the Rings series before I read the Hobbit and I thought maybe the Hobbit included the first finding of the Ring and the Last Alliance between Elves and Men but I was wrong! The book was not about that! It didn?t even mention anything about the Last Alliance! So I was really disappointed!

The third time I read the book, however, I changed my mind completely! It mightn?t be that interesting as The Lord of the Rings but it was really great! The book wasn?t really able to capture my attention that much but at least I managed to actually read the book till the last word!

So if this book isn?t about the Last Alliance between Elves and Men, what is it about??? This book tells of the adventures the hobbit, Bilbo Baggins had before he took in Frodo! On e morning when Bilbo is sitting outside his, er, hobbit hole, the wizard Gandalf comes up to him and asks him if he is interested in an adventure.

Well, he didn?t just say, ?Bilbo, are you interested in an adventure I seem to have gotten into?? They have a conversation and Bilbo sees what he is driving at and dismisses him but not before inviting him to tea that week! This was Bilbo?s mistake! Now, he has to go with thirteen dwarves and Gandalf on an expedition to the Lonely Mountain to reclaim some treasure.

The treasure is guarded by an obstinate and witty dragon, Smaug. The treasure rightfully belongs to Thorin Oakensheild the head of the dwarves! Poor Bilbo was chosen as the burglar so he has most of the dirty work to do! However it is not he who slays the dragon! Want to find out? Read the book! Back to Bilbo! He decides to go on the adventure and wham! It isn?t that bad! He becomes fast friends with the dwarves especially Balin and remains friends forever!

The end of the book is pretty obvious but I?m not gonna reveal it. You have to read the book for yourself! I left out the part between Bilbo and Gollum. That is one of the most interesting parts of the book, to me at least! ?Whatsss it got in its pocketses??? Gollum says after Bilbo and him had finished their game. Ooopss wasn?t supposed to say that!

Anyways, what I gave you was just the main idea of the story. The rest I?m not gonna reveal! This book is definitely what they described it to be, enchanting: ?The enchanting prelude to the Lord of the Rings!?J.R.R. Tolkien certainly has an enchanting and captivating style of writng! But my teachers at school think we?re too young to read these books! Oh, give me a break! Gives me great ideas for essays and gives me an exercise in my imagination!

So anyways, go and get a copy of this book and read it! You?ll love it. I always say that about books: ?you?ll love it!? maybe because I enjoy every book I read! But really, you?re gonna enjoy this book, that is if you know and appreciate great books. This book could become a Classic, if it isn?t there already! I just can?t stop talking about this book! Anyways, have fun reading! Do let me know what you think of this book!
