Disappointed with the sanity ware product

This review is not about generic sanitary products of Hindware but about Hindware WC only.

Hindware is not a novice name, I have heard this name earlier in the sanitary products market and we spend a premium for this brand/name factor - what we expect is quality product. If a branded product is going to break then what is the point spending extra to buy a branded products, aren't we better off with a non-branded one?

Recently we have purchased a new apartment and the builder has fitted in Hindware commodes in the bathrooms. It's a 2BHK and both the toilets has HW fitting. Luckily it's just the toilets seats are of this brand, all other fittings are from Jaguar.

From the day-1 both these had issues with it's flap falling over. We complained to the builder of this strange issue and he kept telling us that they have complained to Hindware and they would correct it. After a long wait, somebody came and put some additional plastic pieces underneath and made it working for us, though the problem occurs occasionally. I don't believe, a company of this standard did this patch work to fix such a basic issue.

The problem seems pretty small but what has upset me is that how such a brand can afford to do this, what about quality checks, how did it pass the testing?

Moreover, this would be a bulk order by a real estate company and still HW does not give a damn to repair or correct the fault - which is more painful.

Secondly when you use flush the pressure too isn't great - someone mentioned that this is the problem with ceramic tanks.

Next, flush nozzle came off after few months. Initially, after it was pressed it was coming out a bit until one day it came off and refused to go back. This problem, I decided to check and fixed myself. I unscrewed the ceramic lid, and found that the system for short/long flush had come off and the spring used to control this push up/down mechanism had fallen off inside. I took it out and fixed it back and realized that it was kind of lose and was not fitting in well inside the system. I did some'jugaad' and made it tight and fixed the system back into place and it's kind of ok now.

Wow, what a crap product by Hindware this has turned out to be! I was shocked to see that it's considered as one of the best brands in sanitary ware and this was the quality they provided. It certainly has changed my opinion about Hindware. Pretty disappointed.

I am not really advising against buying their products, but make sure that they are all alright before you decide to buy them.

We are already asking our builder to get them replaced, though we know it's a big hassle to get it changed.
