I was glad to know that Hero Honda was planning to re-launch its existing Glamour with PGM-FI System in 2006. I made my mind to purchase the very first and limited edition that was available in Black-Silver and Red-Silver Combination.
Coming to the specs the bike sports a 125cc engine with 4 Gears. It gives you a very smooth gear changing experience. Now the question is what is the benefit of PGM-FI?
PGM-FI Stands for Programmed Fuel Injection that means you have a Digital carburetor instead of the Old fashioned way. The bike do not have Reserve option and no switch or Knob is provided to OFF, ON or Switch the petrol supply to Reserve. You have a system like cars. Everything is directly controlled by the ECU(ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED UNIT) Which efficiently controls the petrol and air mixture. You also have a small Digital LCD Display which shows you the amount of Fuel and REAL TIME MILEAGE.
Now, what is meant by RTM(REAL TIME MILEAGE)? Actually the bike has a lot of sensors which measure several things like ENGINE TEMP, THROTTLE POSITION and much more. So while driving you get Real Time Mileage for the previous 10 seconds no matter in which gear and condition you drive. It shows you the real mileage so that you can really learn and change your driving style. It shows a maximum of 199.9km/l when you drive down hill without any acceleration.
My bike gives me around 70 - 75kmp/l that is unbelievable. It also have a Bank Angle sensor which switch off the engine it your bike tips over any surface. That really helps a lot during any accident. The bike looks very good.
The bike comes with Electric Start and Front 230mm Disc which really helps a lot in instant breaking when applied both brakes simultaneously.

Overall its a nice bike with no maintenance if serviced properly at regular intervals.
