I never thought I would spend time in reviewing a bike but this one had really forced me to write one.
My decade old HeroHonda Ambition, my dad bought this bike for me when I was doing my graduation, I loved it riding all the way to college which was around 25 KM away from my home and such situations mileage definitely matters. Yes, and it did save my pocket money by giving around 50 KMPL mileage. With this bike, I had wonderful memories, in short.
Completed my college.
Girl Friend.
Job hunt.
Marriage.
Job relocation to other city.
Back to my place again.
Its decade now, and as time passed I bought Royal Enfield Thunderbird, Activa and a 4 wheeler. As this buddy of mine is getting older, I tried multiple times by checking with authorized spare parts if they have got any parts left out.(mainly for piston and bore) but bloody its highly difficult to get spare parts.
If this would've been a RX100 then undoubtedly I would have rebuild almost everything but sadly HeroHonda stopped production too early and so are the parts unavailable. That really didn't stop me from maintaining it, I tried hard got hold of a mechanic who re-bored it with CBZ pistons making it a 150CC engine now!
Now it rocks (atleast engine wise) and thanks to the duplicate market I atleast get what I want in a compromising quality but thats OK as long as I want this buddy to be with me. I got it repaired and parked it aside as I was using my other bikes but due to some reason I had to take it out almost after 6 months, I cleaned it and had a doubt if this one starts or not to my surprise the Ambition's bike started just with a third kick.
Hats off to the advanced ignition technology, I rode it for some 10 KMS and I still feel very comfortable. I wish I get spares to get it run for another decade. Hehe. I think am being overly greedy.
