I am writing this review based on the experiences I had with HERBALIFE.
Before I start this, if you have not heard about HERBALIFE, they are a marketing firm for primarily health loss products(plus additional nutritional products).
After having met a smart marketing person beloging to herbalife, we decided to take a shot at it. We were asked to attend a session for the same. Ok, here is where we were surpirsed for the first time. We were asked to pay 100/- per head for attending a session(still not sure about the exact reason for paying this).
There were a series of presentations by some very smart people and their obvious intention was to convince us to join herbalife by paying a mere Rs.2000/-. They repeatedly insisted that the promotion levels and the earnings(all the five digit figures they quoted) would be based on the marketing strategies you use(again not mentioning that it comes with a price as well).
Our real surprises(and frustrations) started only after joining herbalife. We had to pay money at every single stage and for every session. The products are extremely costly as well and it becomes absolutely difficult to convince people to buy the products. Worst, the next promotion(to supervisor) would happen only when you buy products worth 1, 60, 000/-. That is not the end of it, you would have to keep purchasing consistenly to retain the designation.
I was surprised with the kind of hidden charges that these people take from you.
To summarize the experiences I had with herbalife:
1) The products are not that great, I used these weight loss products consistently over a period of about 3 months and I had not lost weight.
2) These products are extremely costly. A formula one costs about 1200/- and when consumed regularly it would last only for 2 weeks. Certainly not worth it.
3) Absolute money making firm(without any value). Beware, lot of hidden charges if you want to join herbalife.
