Sudhir mishra has always choosen a different theme for each of his films. Whether it was ’chameli’ aur ’calcatta mail’ and now he comes with an another extravaganza .Believe me this
movie is not for everyone but for only those who wants to see the cruel reality of the society. It’s about three characters ,each different from one another.               Siddharth(KK Menon) is an idealist who believes in ‘we have to be in the system to change the system’(sorry for those who have seen page 3) .He is in love with geeta(Chitrangada Singh),but leaves her for his mission to help the revolutionaries in feudal bihar of 70’s.He too joins them and forget about going back to geeta after six months as he promised her.
Geeta rao is a classmate of siddharth and also his love interest. Her personality can be seen in the light of the fact that after being frustrated by her disturbed marriage with an IAS officer she decides to continue relation with siddharth and also to have a child out of wedlock.
Vikram malhotra(Shiny Ahuja) is practical person who likes to deal the problems pragmatically. He is also in love with geeta despite watching their intimacy.he is portrayed as a successful businessman but a failed lover.
As far as acting is concerned the film is radiated with sparkling performances by almost entire cast.KK seems to be a born actor ,the ease with which he handled his portions is amazing. Here is an another performer just waiting for his chance who may be a future Nasser or Om puri.Shiny Ahuja also delivers a competent performance.Yashpal Sharma is fine in a brief cameo, but the dark horse of the film is the debutant actress Chitrangada who has outshined everyone.Bearing a strange similarity with late smita patil(as almost all people are saying)she is a revelation to watch, and in the end cudos to sudhir mishra for making a film that deals with complex human emotions in the time of emergency.Watch this film and trust me your khwahish of watching a different film will be definitely fulfilled.
