Ideologies are hard to follow. Love is hard to forget.

Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi is story of three individuals ? Vikram, Geeta and Siddharth. Vikram loves Geeta who loves
Siddharth who loves his urge to change the society. Set up in the times of late sixties to mid-seventies, also delicately touching the emergency era, this film delves not only into the psyches of this characters, but also into the psycho-social dilemma the whole India was going through during that time.

The story goes like this ? When student leader Siddharth (KayKay) moves to villages to start naxalite movements, his lover Geeta (Chitrangada) goes to London for further studies and marries an IAS officer Arun (Ram Kapoor) and Vikram (Shiny Ahuja) becomes a fixer in the high social circuits of Delhi.

==Geeta is unable to forget Siddharth and soon joins him in the villages leaving her marriage and even has a child with Siddharth out of wedlock. Vikram keeps rising the social ladder but his love for Geeta keeps forcing him to help Siddharth and Geeta every now and then. And once in such process, he becomes target of police atrocity and loses his sanity. Ultimately, Siddharth?s ideologies are shattered and he decides to go abroad to study medicine. Geeta returns to the village but this time with Vikram.

==The film boasts of a terrific screenplay and amazing performances. KayKay is ever dependable and Chitrangada with her close resemblance to Smita Patil and a powerhouse performance is here to fill the void that late Smita Patil had left. But all said and done, the film belongs to SHINY AHUJA who has given a great performance.

==It was supposed to be his debut film but turned out to be the third one to get released. He is lucky that he got such a great role to play in his first film. Lengthwise, he has a much bigger role than KayKay.

After a long time, Indian cinema has seen a sensible movie. Last one which I can recall was Govind Nihlani?s Drohkaal.

Let us all appreciate Mr. Sudhir Mishra?s effort and conviction and see this film in the theatres. Please don?t see it on a pirated VCD or DVD.

Hoping to see more such films hit the theatres,

- Manasvi
