I purchased my Hawkins Futura Pressure Cooker through a catalog recommended by a friend to replace my old pressure cooker. I wanted it because of it’s safety features and my old cooker blew the safety pressure valve damaging my kitchen ceiling. I’ve now had it for several years and am just as pleased with it since the day I received it. The exterior finish still looks great as well as the interior and even have the original gasket. One thing I learned from my mother is to put a real light coating of vegtable oil on the gasket when not in use to keep it from getting brittle or cracking. I’ve cooked everything from soups to stews, corned beef to boiled peanuts and everything was delicious and feel very secure knowing that it’s not going to do what my old cooker did. I would highly recommend the Future to anyone who does pressure cooking.
