I bought Hawkins 3litre normal pressure cooker to cook in gas. I have a very good experience with Hawkins. Mainly while cooking Daal, it does not throw anything out. A new cook, who does not have any cooking knowledge can easily cook items in this pressure cooker. Once I tried making idli of which I had no idea and had never cooked before, I was successful in cooking it. So, I am practically saying, it is good for a new cook.
I do not know, how many of you have tried this, but it can be used as a steamer by removing the regulator and letting the air pass away.
After having liked this, I bought a new one which was hevibase and can be used in both gas and induction. So, hawkins is a very good pressure cooker even for a new cook as well.
