Hawaiin Shack is to the suburbs what Leos is to town. Ok, Ive only been there once, but a friend goes there alot and is always raving about it... and other than what I saw, I got most of my review info from him! There's no cover charge on weekdays, but there is on weekends. They have the usual choice of drinks at the usual pub prices. The decor is all islandy, with the barmen and waiters wearing blue hawaiin shirts. It's a pretty tiny place so if you intend on sitting through a large part of the night, I'd suggest you get there around 9 pm to grab some seats. Now on to the important stuff... the music they play is amazing, stuff from the '70s and '80s mostly, you'll even catch the beetles and tyrtles and monkies... and they have a live band every Monday I think. I'll check on that and edit this if I'm wrong... You can sway to the music as you sip a drink and just melt away to the beat. Couples looking for dance music, stay away, although there usually are a few couples trying to turn this awesome pub into a pretty sad disc. Also, if you come looking for techno, this is not the place for you... For people like that, I'd say pop on over to Madness or J49... leave the Shack be!
