At Kilpauk, Chennai where I live, Hathway has now come up with a new scheme. If in a building there are 3 connections taken they would offer 24 hr connectivity , with just a onetime fee of rs 2500 and a monthly charge of 700. No cable modems required to be bought. They also were talking of speed of 128kbps. Though i discounted the speed of 128kbps, i was under the impression that it would be atleast faster than my dialup dishnet line. I went in for this scheme, though i had no problems with dishnet. I now find that connectivity is slower or equal to the dishnet speeds. on sundays it is worse and is a test of your patience.
As for my dialup connectivity i had no problems at all. my only consolation now is that my telephone bills would be less and overall cheaper than my dialup line though the connection speeds are the same. Make tall promises but do deliver seems to be the mantra of hathway
