I have been a subscriber of Hathway Broadband since last 3½ years,moving from one package to another (In fact I myself do not remember

which package of theirs I had started with). Prior to that I used to get connected to the net through my telephone line of Tata Indicom and that used to be very slow, frequently interrupted apart from having my telephone line engaged.
   The plus point about Hathway is that it is comparatively cheap. The Package that I have subscribed to is Liteway New Extra Package: a 3GB download at 256 Kbps valid for a period of 6 months @Rs 1600 plus taxes. This works out well with me as I am an average user of internet. No online movies or games or Big downloads for me. Connectivity is ok but on some ocassions although ’Local Area Connection Speed:100 Mbps Status:Connected’ would be showing up on your PC, yet there would be no connection.
   About service, it works well till there is a problem. Once there is a problem, it takes sometime to be sorted out. Most of the times, as told by the Call Centre people, the blame is put on the faulty cables.
   Reliability on Call Centre people, I would rate as Poor.On one occasion, I had some important tasks to be done through net and I found I had no connection. On enquiring at their Call Centre I was told that there is a Cable problem in my area and by evening it is likely to be sorted out. There was no progress on it by evening also and the call centre people kept telling me people are on the job. Next morning when I contacted again, I was told that Hathway had not received the Subscription Renewal payment and that is the reason why my services have been disconnected. The fact was that I had dropped the cheque one week in advance and yet the cheque was not presented for payment at the bank. I gave them the details of the cheque and then after two full days of disconnection, my connection was finally restored. The failure of the Call centre people to tell me the exact reason for the disconnection, really surprised me.

          

Overall, I would rate Hathway an average ISP.
