This book by JK Rowling, was the very beginner's book. In this there is not much clear idea of what and how much can Harry acheive as a child.
Harry potter was a child prodigy. And was supposed to be one of the most successful wizards of his time. The story here is of his childhood and how his upbringing was, has proved his worth and his values. He was tortured by his caretakers or guardians. They were not happy with his success and his prodigy type behaviour. But it was Professor Dumbledore and Hagrid, who stayed close and protected him till he was eligible enough to join the Wizard School. Then at Hogwarts, he displayed his best characteristics. He does various experiments in order to know about the stone.
So one must read this book, the story though is not as interesting as the other sequels, but is worth reading.I
