Harry potter and the philosopher's stone was the first book that I had ever read apart from comics or short stories. Even as a child I was able to understand the story and when I read it even today, I do not find the book childish. That's the beauty of J.K Rowling's writing. It appeals to everyone alike.
The plot of the story, the way the characters unfold themselves, the way harry potter realises his true potential, its all so magical and mystical and makes you wish it was all true. You don't just read this book. You can actually see the story unfolding as you read along and that's what makes any story teller fantastic.
