After being mistreated, threatened and harassed late at night by an irate district manager I want to let people know to watch out for the Hardees stores operated by franchise owner Jerry Landis in eastern
and central Ohio. I understand he also owns the quiznos franchises around the state as well.
I want to point out that I and members of my outdoors club used to eat at hardees about once a week. Thats 20 guys ordering roughly 2 sandwiches a piece, or approximately $200 each time we walk in, usually more than that. So we spend approximately $10,000 a year in that store and have never had a problem until recently. We can hardly be called problem customers.
I recently had the displeasure of having the same order screwed up in exactly the same way at two different hardees locations within an hour of each other.
I was driving eastwards, went to one hardees, and found they had put mayo on all the sandwiches when told not to.
We were still hungry and have always had good luck with hardees before this so we stopped at the next hardees we came to and ordered the same thing there, which totalled out to over $50.00 I should add. Monster burgers are not cheap.
The second order was also screwed up by someone insisting on putting that white poison called mayo on them.
On finally getting home and feeding myself and my family peanut butter sandwiches for dinner after a long day and drive I was far from pleased.
The first restaurant in Coshocton Ohio gave me a hard time but eventually replaced the order, several weeks later.
The second restaurant said they would, then when I went into the store a week later they said they knew nothing about it even though it was the same manager who had made the order as well as spoken to me on the phone.
Weeks later, after no response to my complaints through the hardees complaint line I called the local store and the manager told me they had fired that particular evening manager due to many such problems. They agreed to replace the order.
Later that evening, around 9 pm, well after reasonable business hours, I received a call from an irate district manager from Hardees who yelled at me saying I was trying to scam them for free food. She said that unless I could produce the receipt, over a month later at this point, and which I was never given in the first place, that she refused to believe we had even been in the stores or had the orders that were messed up by them. She then hung up without allowing me to say anything.
On calling her back immediately I was told that if I went into any of their stores that I would be arrested for trespassing.
This is after they had screwed up an order in a way that could easily have killed someone with a food allergy similar to mine.
So far calls to the hardees complaint line have done no good. I am speaking to an attorney as well as several local agencies at this point to consider legal action against the franchise owner.
