All in the Family. Review on Hamlet - William Shakespeare

Hamlet is one of Shakespeare's most dramatic creations.The story begins as Hamlet's father is killed and his mother marries his uncle.The uncle is also the new king.Hamlet despises his mother and his father's ghost reveals the sordid story behind his sudden departure.He seeks solace in Ophelia daughter of Polonius the Lord Chamberlain.Polonius has a son Leartes who studies in Paris.Polonius is a man who trusts nobody.When he finds that Hamlet is trying to talk to Ophelia about his bereavement he goes to the king.He tells the king that Hamlet is mad.To add fuel to his observations Hamlet acts crazy.He asks a band of players to enact a drama on the lines of his father's murder and subsequent events.Things get worse as everyone now says Hamlet is mad.He is sent off to England after he kills Polonius.He returns halfway and is challenged to a sword-fight by Leartes who wants to avenge his father.The end of the play is very tragic.

The great thing about Hamlet is the human emotion.All situations are out of real life.The people, though they belong thousand years before can be recognised and identified with.The literary content is magnificent.All in all this is a great jewel in William Shakespeare's crown.
