However, during an college event, Madhav meets Riya and apologises again. Riya however, reacts less but spares him and gives him the card of her wedding - with her family friend, Rohan. Madhav loses all his emotions and hurt, moves back to Simraon, his hometown to help her mother, Rani Sahiba who works a school.
Madhav remains there for long. One day he gets to know that Riya is in Patna for some reason. He rushes to meet her and finally reunites with her. She was not the one she used to be.
She told Madhav that she divorced with Rohan and came her for a job reason. Madhav told her that Bill Gates is here to visit his school and he needs to prepare a speech for his welcome. Riya Somani helps him and finally he delivers a brilliant speech in the annual event though, he was quite bad at English.
Because of his very nice speech, he was surrounded by a group of people. When he gets over them, he realises that Riya is nowhere. He gets a letter from his students by Riya in which she wrote that she had lung cancer and could only survive a few months.
Madhav breaks down into tears and goes in the search of her. After a thousand attempts, he finds himself alone and Riya, nowhere. After a few years, he meets Chetan Bhagat in Patna who shows him the journal written by Riya. He gets to remember that Riya often told him that she wanted to be a singer in the clubs of New York.
He finds himself in New York in his college friends' house. He had an internship of three months and however, had to find Riya by time. However, after so many attempts, he fails to find her.
On the very ending, he hears from someone that Riya is a singer in the club so far. In the cold weather of -6° C, he ran a six miles and finally found his love.
