Dear All,
I want to bring to your attention an unpleasant experience that I had with the Jawed Habib Salon(that has recently opened on top of Madhuloka in Bellandur). I had gone there to get a haircut a few days back. I had expected it to be a swanky place with a professional outlook. But things turned out to be very very different.
Firstly, the place itself was shoddily maintained, unlike any other hair styling place I have visited in Bangalore(like Spratt or Limelite or Bodycraft). The place was filthy with hair strewn around all over; it seemed that a customer visited there in the last ice age! I really got concerned but then I decided to try it out - "Maybe the hair stylist will be better than the place", I thought.
Secondly, the hair stylist was too dumb to understand what I wanted. I explained in detail as to how I wanted my hair to look. He vigourously shook his head like a pendulum out of control - I relaxed while he'meticulously' cut my hair for the next 1 hour! - I am not joking for 1 hour! Now when I looked at my hair, things were not too good - it was exactly opposite to what I had told him. I immediately told him to stop.
Thirdly and most importantly, the Obnoxious Lady With Spectacles(OLWS) who seemed to(mis)manage the whole place came into picture. In the last one hour, I was listening to her conversation with other lady clients - "Maam, where do you work?", "Where do you live?", "Where does your husband work?", "How many kids do you have?", "Your hair is very beautiful - only thing it is really dry - take a hair spa treatment from us", "Maam, please come back again - please bring your husband too!". Well, 1 hour was a long time, you know! Anyways, I disrupted OLWS's another enquiring spree abruptly and complained to her showing my badly done hair. OLWS did not know what to do - she started shouting at the stylist - menacingly showing him the scissors in her hand.
Now, OLWS assured me that she would repair all the damage herself. Then she started doing to my hair what a gardner does to the hedge - vigourously cutting my hair without bothering about any styling - sometimes as if some spirit had possessed her. I had enough of it and I did not want to go ahead with this drama any further. I asked her to stop and went ahead at the payment counter. OLWS, being an all-rounder came at the payment counter too - happily taking Rs. 350 for this mess. My conversation went like this:
OWLS: "Sorry for this sir, all this happened because you came here without an appointment. Please take an appointment next time"
Me: "Do you think I will come again?"OWLS: "Sir please come again, I will give you a complementary haircut next time"
After this, I had to go to another salon to get things in order. Thankfully, after paying another 350 bucks, my hair looks much better now.
Moral of the Story - If you want to save time, money and most importantly your hair, avoid visiting Jawed Habib Salon.
