I have been using HP/Compaq nx6120 for a year now and got it for 45K. yes i had got enchanted by the price. But this laptops has given more problems than my primitive desktop pc in a years’ time. Its not only me, around 10 more of my friends use the same laptop and are facing problems since the first few months of purchase. Here’s a list of problems
1. Battery doesnt last for more than 9 months and till the time u realise that ur battery is gone you are very near the end of battery warranty period end. I had detected my battery problem a month before the end of warranty period. I was out of town so my bro took my laptop to the HP service center. and here comes the next problem.
2. pathetic service. I dont know how they have made the service network but it is the worst i have seen after Reliance mobiles. The service center was like a dungeon, the guy was too arrogant to talk to a customer and ya he CHEATED. my battery does not last for more than 20 minutes, but my bro had little knowledge about laptops this guy tells him that the laptop is perfectly fine. Now my warranty period is gone and a new battery will cost me a fortune. and for this laptop i dont intend to spend that amount .
3. Next my Cd drive goes. good that hear i was the one dealing with the service center guy so that poor chap found no ways of cheating.
4. touch pad works only at its own will. my friends have faced problems like crash of hard disk, crash of mother board, etc. etc. the list can be never ending I think HP has a perspective that if they offer anything cheap Indian customer will accept. they are in for a big surprise, there are around 50 students using HP laptops around me and none of them has plans of buying it for the second time or recommending it to anyone So guys and girls be ware before buying this product
