I have opened an Demat account recently with HDFC.
I have been receiving almost 7-8 calls each day from various persons each one claiming to be the relationship manager for me. In one of these calls, they asked me that they are activating an SMS service for my account without explicitly mentioning about the changes.
As soon as I come to know about the charges I asked to discontinue the service, but they have deducted 1 year service charge for this facility from my account which is non-refundable.
This is complete cheating. No formal approval from me to deduct charges. And if I want to discontinue their service within 1 month, how can they charge for 1 year. Ridiculous!
