I had opted for HDFC Term Insurance in November 2015 and paid the stipulated amount immediately after opting for a quarterly payment option. My medical was done imediately thereafter. For the next four months they kept asking one document or the other which I sent numerous times to them. Finally in March 2016, once they claimed to have received all the docments, they tell me that the policy has been rated up due to some medical issues.
THIS AFTER FOUR MONTHS OF THE MEDICAL. Even then, I decided to pay the additional premium they have been immediately. NOW MY POLICY HAS NOT EVEN BEEN GENERATED AND THESE CHEATS HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT SINCE MY POLICY IS VALID FROM NOVEMBER, WHEN I FIRST PAID THE PREMIUM, MY SECOND QUARTERLY INSTALLMENT WAS DUE IN FEBRUARY 2016. NOTE THIS, THEY WAITED FOR A FULL MONTH AND A HALF TO MENTION THAT TO ME. IF IT WAS DUE IN FEBRUARY, WHICH IT CAN NOT BE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT EVEN RECEIVED ALL THE DOCUMENTS, NOR THE COMPLETE PAYMENT(BECAUSE OF THE RATE UP). IMMEIDATLY AFTER THE PREMIUM DUE NOTICE(FOR FEBRUARY, THAT I RECEIVED IN MARCH),
I RECEIVED ANOTHER MAIL FROM THEM SAYING THAT THE POLICY HAS LAPSED. THIS IS TOTALLY A FRAUDULENT PRACTICE AND I AM TAKING THEM TO THE CONSUMER COURT. I HAVE DECIDED TO SURRENDER THIS POLICY AND CLAIM MY PREMIUM AMOUNT BACK. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE TOTALLY FRAUDULANT AND CHEATS.
