My father applied for hdfc ergo mediclaim policy. Despite being a long term hypertensive and diabetic he has always been in the best of health so the policy was only as a backup plan. Unfortunately he was hospitalised in june for stroke and despite mounting expenses, hdfc kept delaying and denying cashless claim. Now eve for reimbursement they are asking for outrageous documents. Treatment records of my fathers previous diabetic and hypertensive history, discharge summary as per their specifications.
If they are not interested in giving reimbursement they should go into some other business.
I would advise against investing in this medical insurance.
