I am having this card since 2014 and did not like both the card facility and the bank support staff related to credit card. I have some serious issue with the HDFC visa credit card. Let me explain everything from the start. First of all the yearly charges are too high and they are increasing every year. Policy also confirms that annual fee is subject to change on the discretion of the bank. In the 1st year I didn’t use the card and the bank still charges a hefty amount of money on the name of annual fee. I didn’t like the concept of paying for something which you haven’t used. It is hard to pay the bill by cash in the branch. There is no department or person who can resolve credit card related queries. They simply provide you mailing address or customer care no. Once, I got late for my payment just because of the irresponsible behaviour of the bank. The late charges are also very high roughly 500 Rs for up to 20k. EMI option is also not available for the customers. Customer care staff didn’t have nothing much to help. For example if you make a call to enhance your card limit, they are unable. Moreover, connecting them is chargeable, so plz make sure you have sufficient amount in your phone before connecting them. I have been paying all my bill on time still they are unwilling to enhance my limit. Bank also provides cash transaction facility if needed but its interest rates are very high i.e. 3.5% per transaction. Now I have other banks credit card and I am very happy with their services and everything.
I humbly, request to all who are trying to have a credit card don’t go for HDFC.
