I bought HCL Bean Stalk (512 MB ram, 80 GB HDD, 17" TFT Monitor .)
I bought this PC b'se of severe campagin from my friend and Sales incharge of HCL, Mr.Ranganathan. Items came to my House on 27th July 06. And there were no sign of any people coming for installation. I contacted my Mr.Ranganathan and he with great difficulty and followup arranged to send a person on sunday the 30.07.2006. During installation, the items shown on my monitor were so colorful that I could not spot a "bent line of scratch" at the bottom of my screen which I found when I opened my internet explorer which was white background with no download of any page. I started my followup with my frined and he promised replacement. On 39.09.2006 I got my replacement. Mr.Srinath, the Service Manager came to my rescue to replace the monitor once the matter gone to him directly within a day. I am thankful to him.
But I am not satisfied with many of the service people who drop in. First they do not know how to speak to a customer except very few and they are not punctual in their visits. The service team lacks co-ordination and always saying I donit know who attended to this PC last time thereby evading any issue. Even for this Mr.Srinath has assured good service hereafter.
My PC is very slow especially when it comes up when booted. Even when I switch to multiple applications, the PC takes long time to bring up an application. I really wondered whether I have 512 MB ram 3.06 Ghtz. Really fed-up with the PC. But the service people switch from one reason to another when it comes to rectification. First they said, that may be due to "crash proof" software. Then I asked them to remove. Even then it was very slow. Then another person told it may be due to dumping of preloaded softwares in C for effective deemo. And if you format the pc acc. to your partiion it will improve. and one person said, it may be due to tmp. interenet files. I think it is natural for any computer to store internet files in temp int. folder and slowing of PC cannot be attributed to this always. When I say the sevice is improviing I mean I am able to get people immediately through Mr.Srinath and product wise I am not satisfied. I worried this PC is giving much problems within 2 months of intallation and what will happen once the warranty period is over. They simply say you can pay and extent the service contract.
My wish my PC must be made problem free and I should not call them hereafter or I should return the PC back to them I get refund of my amount and relieve me of any tension and worry. Thanks again to Mr.Srinath hoping that he will do the needful.
