Indians rude with indians??. Review on Gulf Air

Although I have travelled within India a number of times, this was the first time I went out of the country. My sector was Delhi-Paris, via Bahrain and I flew in Economy class.

Well, while going to Paris, everything was excellent. Including the food, the entertainment, the service, the respect with which the air-hostess spoke, etc

NEGATIVE ASPECT:

But while coming back, from Bahrain to Delhi, it was in stark contrast to my earlier journey. There were lots of indians who were coming back who probably worked in construction or something and they did could not speak much english. The airhostess were rude to them, ignored their requests and looked at them with contempt(I sat with one of them). And unfortunately and ironically, it was the indian air hostess(who obviously spoke hindi) who was treating them like this. The air-hostess who were not indian were as good as the earlier ones when I travelled from India.

I dont know what to make out this. Whether its the airlines who is at fault or it was the haughtiness of the indian airhostess that is giving them a bad name.

Please do remember that whatever I have written is an experience of just 1 flight that I undertook with Gulf Air. I had earlier thought that it could just have been a one-time incident. But then, looking at the other reviews, it sorta clears my doubt.

But personally, I didnt experience any of that. If I get this flight cheap enough, I just might go again.

Well, I might just be wrong about generalising my experience about the behaviour with some indians as I have travelled just once as the others have pointed.

Regarding the check in and other things, everything was really good. Unless you have extra weight, check is swift. I had 7 kgs excess and being a student going for an internship, I could not afford to spend any extra money. So I had to plead and negotiate a lot before they allowed me the extra weight.(But this is a mistake on my part, and I would suggest that do not rely on your negotiation skills to get the excess baggage without paying any extra money which is quite hefty: around Rs.700/excess Kg).

Entertainment was also very good(I watched a hindi movie and some english comedy soaps), in fact, there were lots of channels on the entertainment. Another thing, I am 5'9 and my built is good, and I found the space in the economy comfortable enough. I could easily sleep for a couple hours. We got clean blankets and nice small pillows. They also served beer and wine apart from the regular juice and cold drink. I had juice(see, I am a good boy:).

Well, I had 5-6 hr stay at Bahrain to catch my connecting flight to Paris. Bahrain airport is sorta ok. Its not big where I waited. One can roam around for like an hour at the most. Neways, I had my laptop and I got a power point so waiting didnt trouble me much. The airport even has wi-fi. You can buy an hour connection for something 1 dinar.

So, in retrospect, everything was really good except maybe that one little incident that I didnt like. It is quite possible that some our fellow indians might have misbehaved in the past, but it still doesnt mean they should have been rude with those people(basically, I am talking about the one that sat next to me).
