I have had to read this book for my A level exams.I am proud to say that such an extraordinary writer remains so true to his identity when he writes books about Indians!
The book is easy to follow and provides true insight into Raju's character without making him seem larger than life, but his many flaws help us to relate to him and appreciate the extent of his transformation.
I would like to hope that Raju did indeed survive and the rains did come.This would prove that a man who is willing to change for the better can make a positive difference.I am writing the exam on Monday, and I am sure that this wonderful book will help me excel on a personal plane as Raju did!
R.K.Narayan is a great man and he wrote wonderful stories about India!I love Malgudi days, and have seen some of the tv series.Respects to this great Indian author!
