everything...
Cons:
high cost and availability

If today’s world is engulfed in an envelope of pollutants and carcinogens which deprive us of our natural health, nature has, in its own way produced an elixir to counteract
most of them....I am talking about green tea...
GREEN TEA
Tea in itself is a very good beverage, but this variety is a boon to human kind...All the tea varieties like black tea, red tea and green tea are produced form the same Camellia plant but the way in which they are processed gives them different names...
Green tea ( Camellia Sinensis) is prepared by steam rolling the freshly plucked leaves, so of all the tea varieties it retains the maximum amount of nutrients, like vitamin C, some B- complexes, minerals and most important of all poly phenols…
Why are these polyphenols most important..Before going into that I would like to give some brief metabolisms going on inside our body…We know that in our bodies cells are produced daily and cells die daily…In some medical conditions the gene which is responsible for the apoptosis(cell death) gets mutated and it results in a condition where cells don’t die but get accumulated…This condition is generally called cancer..Now is where the poly phenols come into the act…They have a certain important ingredient called catechins which helps in killing free radicals and acts as anti oxidants thereby resulting in cell death..
Why am I writing about Green Tea now???..I read an alarming news recently that one in 9 persons these days get affected by all types of cancer, and till now there is no cause found to trace the origin of theses cancers…The cause may vary from pollutants, some chemicals, radiation, heavy and tiring exercises which release free radicals in the system and even unhealthy sex, which can trigger this gene mutation..
And luckily for us humans, nature has created a product to counteract most of the cell related problems…Not only is green tea a savior against cancer , it also prevents clogging of arteries and thus preventing heart disease, and it reduces the level of cholesterol in blood…
And if these reasons are not enough to drink Green tea then may be another of its nature will certainly help…That is, it has anti-aging tendency :)…And these are only a few among its innumerable good effects…So we can say Green tea is indeed good for the soul above all things…
     HOW TO MAKE GREEN TEA
Green tea is prepared slightly differently than other teas…First the water used, should not come to a boil and it should be removed from fire when we see steam rising over it and then it should be poured over tea leaves or tea bag…This should be then kept aside, covered, for 3 to 4 mins , for the maximum nutrients to be released(80% are found to be released)…It can be had with a dice of lemon or just like it, with or without sugar…The slight astrigent taste is due to the presence of polyphenols…And another good thing about it is that, the same leaves can be infused three or four times…
The only possible thing which makes us think twice is the cost of it…As most people do not know the benefits of it yet the cost is pretty high, somewhere near Rs 500/ a kilo…But when thinking of all the benefits, it isn’t as high a cost after all I guess…After all who would want to miss out on an ELIXIR??
And as for me, I would be extremely happy if anyone found it (I mean green tea here and not this article…) useful like I have done…
