This review is specially for the one's like me who might not be an authentic book worm or avid novel lovers but from time to time may just indulge into a well written book be it of what ever category or genre.
About a month back during my office core leaves when I was off for 15 days and din have much plans to travel or do something had to find a hobbie in stead of wasting my time watching CID or Suryavansham on TV I thought of reading a novel.
My sister suggested me "Gothic Vision written Dani Cavallaro" considering she knew I love horror / supernatural tv shows and movie. At first I did not like the idea much but gave it a try and took it as a challenge to complete the book.It was a 240 page book written in simple English which made it much more easier and interesting for me.
Just like me if you like supernatural, spiritual, death and destruction kind of a movie /soap or book then my friend this is a must read book for you i'd say.For sure this book will tell you all you need to know about the phases of horror and the truth behind supernatural activities.Written more in a form of a documentary and less like a novel makes it more interesting, yes there are short stories but narrated in a manner with an interesting plot i'll suggest to sit with a nice hot cup of coffee to enjoy it.About the writer after reading about him on the internet MR.Dani Cavallaro is a freelance writer specializing in literary studies and his avid trump card genre being HORROR! He has written a number of books on this genre but this one is his personal favorite. Now lets talk about the book, to begin with i'll say the Gothic Vision narrates a wide range of stories revolving around horror, spirits and the supernatural world, starting from the late-eighteenth century to the present time and of related theoretical approaches to the vision of dark writing. The word horror is defined in a way like no other, giving valid and simple reasons of why we fear? why are we scared? what makes us shiver? . The author makes an attempt to make his readers understand and find out answers through this book with the help of short stories. The stories are quite interesting revolving around instances within families, friend circle, war zone, unattended houses and mansions, roads, forests and so on.The basic knowledge the writer wants to give is the reasons why we feel scared and terrified and weather or not the midnight horror tales are true or not.
Hats off to the author for this fine work and yes I did manage to finish the book:)
