I purchased this, Godrej 1.5T, 3 Star, White Split Air Conditioner, from Kings Electronics, Old Panvel on 29th April 2014. And now, as I am writing this review, I am sweating as well. We opted for this because it was in our budget. Made a blunder of not going thru Mouthshut reviews.

While estimating they said the piping will be entirely of copper. In Cost Estimation also it is mentioned that 3 mtrs will be free copper but when delivered 1 ft or 2 ft pipe from machine was of copper then it was all aluminium. They also said that compressor coil will be copper but from outside I see the coil is aluminium. The copper coil compressor is no where mentioned in receipt or estimation. It was mentioned to me orally which I had written at that time on a rough paper which I dont have now. In the Full Receipt its written as No Replacement, Only Service Warranty.


It did serve well for few months but started troubling after that. My first complaint for AC was in Nov 2014 with complaint number as 113685 as it was not cooling properly.


After inspecting they said there was a leakage in Gas and needs replacement of compressor. They took the compressor with them as shown in Rejection Receipt and almost after 15 days got one back saying it was a new one.


One person came with gas and filled it but after 2 days again no cooling. I also told them to check the pipeline if its faulty, they checked only 2 inches in middle and said its fine. I called them again to say that I want to re initiate the same complaint number because its not cooling. Then again a person came and filled the gas and went off. That time he said that when they mention copper pipe & copper coil they should give full copper pipe and full copper coil compressor. Its never like this that 2 ft pipe is of copper and rest aluminium.


2rd May 2015, Saturday, again the AC has stopped cooling. The compressor is keeping ON continuously. This is a small bed room. At 17Deg C also its not cooling. I dont have knowledge about AC but I somehow feel that I have been cheated OR may be I have got a defective piece by luck.


3rd May 2015, Sunday, I called up the Kings Customer care number(27451212) and launched a replacement complaint with complaint number - 134481. The executive madam told me we dont do replacement. After that I told her the complete thing and then she gave me her managers number Mr. Harish - 8898333105 and told me to speak to her.


I spoke to Mr. Harish and explained him everything. He asked me about the purchase date. After hearing the purchase date as April 2014, he said it wont be possible so late. I told him that last year I had already requested for a replacement. I also told him that things were not delivered as per promise and has been cheated by either Kings Electronics or Godrej. I also told him that no customer will do "AC & Refrigeration" course from any institute to purchase a AC and that there has to be loyalty from their side.


12th May 2015, again saw ice on the outside panel and the rate of cooling had reduced.


13th May 2015, there was no cooling and a complaint was launched with complaint number 135284. Being summer season requested them to take this call on urgent basis. Also personally called up Mr. Naveen to intimate this. We were leaving for 10 days vacation to south i.e. 15th May to 24th May 2015.


24th May 2015, Before leaving from banglore, called up Mr. Naveen to intimate that we were returning and pls co-ordinate and get the gas filled the day we returned. He said that Mr. Sunil(+918108103347) is handelling the issue and requested me to talk to him. Called up Mr. Sunil but he didn’t pick up the phone. Guess he was busy. But didn’t receive and call back either.


25th May 2015, After coming home from the trip early morning, saw that there was no cooling so called up Mr. Sunil and he told me to launch a complaint and he will get the gas filled. The complaint Number is 155284.


Because of compressor problem I got a electricity bill of 2510/- which I filled it today.


After this complaint was launched the gas was duly filled.


Mr. Sunil also launched a complaint to Godrej to which I got two sms stating that their technician will be coming to visit on 26th May 2015 but nobody turned up.


27th May 2015, I called them to enquire about the same. The technician was to come from Siddhivinayak Service Center. Spoke to them and found out that the technician will charge 450/- rs for inspection and for gas will charge separately to which I denied stating that it was their fault. I called up Sunil of kings and said that I am not ready to pay and that I will go to consumer forum for a complaint. He said he will be sending his own technician free of cost and will also take care of gas filling on 29th May 2015.


When I launched the complaint they told me to hand over the compressor for 2 days so that they can test. I asked for a standby for my family to sustain the Mumbai heat, but they denied. They said they will repair it. Initially when I took they said compressor has 5 years warranty and also said that if compressor has a problem it is replaced as it cannot be repaired.


As I did not hand over the compressor, I had to fill GAS by my expenditure. From yesterday afternoon again their is no cooling and now we are at home without AC running.


After all this I really got fed up and put a complaint to Consumer Forum(Consumer Education Research Center) on 1st June 2015 with a same letter to Kings and Godrej as well. Kings electronics did not turn up til now. Waiting for CERS's response.


I have demanded a Daikin 1.5T from them in replacement after making lot of research on Mouth shut.


My sincere advice to everybody planning to buy Godrej AC is please wait for 2 more months, save another 10K and get a Daiking, Bluestar, Voltas, LG or panasonic.
