This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had…………………..
I had booked tickets from Cochin to Mumbai. One day I get an SMS that the flights have been cancelled and to call goair
customer service. Ok, I call them they tell that I have 2 options to cancel and get the complete refund else take another flight same day later in the day which now is a via flight instead of a direct flight. As I was speaking to Customer Service checked on the web and noticed that this new flight that they were offering was at a much lower fare. I asked them for the difference, that’s when things went haywire. They said that they could not give me the difference in fare. I asked them to put themselves in my spot and what would they have done. They sympathized with me and said that their reaction would be the same.
I spoke to a Manager – Sharmila, she said she would resolve the issue and get back to me, then she conveniently vanished and every time I called – she was either not in or in a meeting. That’s customer service and responsiveness for you……….
I then spoke to a team lead – Vaibhav K, who said they were working on the situation and would come to a resolution within 2 –3 days. Fair enough I called back after 3 days. Things went back to square 1, they flatly refused to give me the difference. He kept giving me the run around asked me to call him the next day as there was no one senior than him on the floor (don’t know what kind of call center joint they run there). I asked him to call me back, he promised to call me back, took my number and that was the last I heard of him. After giving him 2 days called back, well he was not in.
I had asked to speak to the corporate office, was told that would not be possible, which forces me to go public.
By then I had had enough. I cancelled my bookings and decided to go to a more professionally run airline.
The airline may be good – I can’t comment on it as this was to be my 1st experience with them – now the last, but this customer service will definitely take them a long way………………..
I have dealt with other airlines like Kingfisher and Jet. I can’t say enough about them. I would advice any passenger against flying with goair. I have instructed my company that we never book through goair. We will be a small percentage, but that’s definitely business lost to goair.
