My complete incidence is narrated in this blog. How standard their response is one can see it on my twitter account - https://itsmythoughtweb.wordpress.com/

I stay in Hyderabad and I am frequent flyer. In my last 6 years of air travelling I have travelled through Air-India, Jet Airways, Indigo, Vistara, spice etc…  and I have never missed a flight.  Our return flight was scheduled on Saturday 1st July via Go-Air flight @ 06:45 am and we booked three months back on 31st march.

It was a normal day we were excited to travel with Go-Air as it was for the first time. Boarding got started and we reached the gates by 6:14 am. Me and my wife started boarding in when I realised that my Boarding Pass was missing.  I accept it was a bit late but I was also taken aback when I couldn’t find my boarding pass. Nowhere I have seen the boarding gates being closed before 25 mins, so technically we were having 6 more mins.

And there we met Mr “Gaurav Vaid” who said there is very less time in your flight now we cannot do anything if your pass is missing. I requested them for some help/solution but I only wasted more time. I asked him if I can get my Boarding Pass within next 5 mins, Will he allow us? & He said “Yes, if in case you can get your Boarding pass within 5 mins we will allow you.”

Then I ran back to place where we were sitting and I saw my pass lying on the floor. I immediately called my wife that I got the pass and I was back by 6:18 am.  But still he denied us an entry to the flight. Now the issue is “Firstly Mr Gaurav Vaid did a false promise. Secondly, There is always a last bus at 6:20 am. Even after my call to inform that I found my pass, he called and told flight staff, “-2 karke gates band karo” and told my wife rudely “Apko JAnasultan hai toh Jaiye I won’t allow him”. My wife was literally disturbed seeing his behaviour. Even if this guy was going through the rule book he could have allowed us, but Mr.  Gaurav was so “Badtameez” in his style of talking as if he had already made up his mind that he won’t let us go. He immediately asked us to leave or book same flight the next day. He saw a food parcel in my hand and even taunted “KhAnasultan itna zaruri hai toh flight toh miss karoge hi”

Mistakes do happen, I lost the boarding pass. I accept my mistake but I found my pass within the stipulated time frame. Mr Gaurav Vaid was arrogant and he mentally harassed  us in that situation. We were feeling dejected. I can bet if this would have been any another flight, they would have allowed us. Once with Malaysian Airlines my security tag was missing on my bag and their support staff was co-operative and ran with me to get a new one. With Air India my friend has a similar experience where he lost the pass but due to staff support he did not miss his flight. We weren’t so late to have been treated like this. Even if I missed my flight how can someone misbehave with me or my wife. I still feel I HAD ALL THE RIGHTS TO BOARD THAT FLIGHT THAT VERY SAME DAY.

My reason to write this blog – “Go Air should know how their employees interact in troublesome situations. In fact, how their employees “Harass” in troublesome situations. I wonder if anyone will report this”.

We re-booked the same flight for the next day 2nd July and paid 6500 INR extra. We didn’t have any clue where to stay in Kolkata. So Pompa Mahanta(A Go-Air employee, who did our Ticket) was HUMAN enough to understand our situation. She was wondering how could we miss it it
