Gmail is good. gmail is VERY good. its so good one begins to wonder whether its for real for not. they have too much to offer in return for nothing at all.
best part of gmail is that entry is
by invites only, which means everyone who wants an account has to make an effort. you have to get an existing gmail user to send you an invite by mail, and then u get a chance to open your own account.
when i got an invite in 2004, people were dying for a gmail account. thankfully the situation is a lot better. its very easy to be invited now as everyone as invites.
now to the best part - this is what google has to offer:
- 2GB space and increasing every day ! to ask for more is like asking too much and giving nothing at all !
- NO spam at all. all spam goes to the spam folder and nothing reaches your inbox.
- there are no folders, only conversations. gmail is fast, quick and very efficient and organized which proves that google is simply the best out there.
- The cherry on the cake - FULL POP3 support, which is impossible to get in a free account, buy gmail gives it and we can use outlook for for email.
- NO ADVERTISEMENTS. atleast not at the time of writing the review.i dont see any drawback to gmail at the time of writing this review, as it has much more to offer than even a PAID email solution. only problem is getting an invite, either you have to be lucky, or you have to know the right people - like ME! hehe..
further, i have a paid email solution, that charges me $20 an year for their services, and after opening a gmail account, i feel like an idiot for PAYING for something which i could get for free with gmail.
the only catch i see in gmail is that its in the beta stage, and once the registrations are open for everybody - it might actually turn into a hotmail kinda thing - all clumsy and slow and full of advertisements and spam all over the place. actually when hotmail started it was the best, and still is pretty good - but you cant blame hotmail when they have soo many people to cater to !
anyway, in all gmail is the best email solution as of now. if you can get your hands on it, you’ll have achieved something worthwhile!
