April 14, 2003 Update

I have now been at MS for 1 1/2 yrs. And I still love the place. Mind you, there are times when it is best to agree to disagree! But there are so many more times where I have learned about culture of other countries, peoples interest, styles, likes and dislikes.

The members are for the most part supportive and nice. There are a few along the way that can be a little mean, but overall, I have made a lot of friends here.

I have at this time, written 230 reviews and have over 285 people who trust me. I am proud of this accomplishment and hope to continue being a good writer here. I love being able to help the consumer about products that I know about.

Granted, we don’t know if we will get paid or not, but hey I write because I love it! I have won a couple of contest, which was cool!

We all have our own thoughts and should post those thoughts with respect and comment with respect. Remember, your way of doing something is not necessarily the way of another person. And your beliefs are not necessarily that of another persons either.


The Orignal Review

I am new to MouthShut.com and so far I love the site. I find some pro’s and some con’s.

I like the fact that I can post a review about products that I have used or someone in my family have used. I like the fact that I can edit/delete information if I need to. I like that fact that people read and rate my reviews.

I like the fact that I can help people who are looking to buy a product in some kind of way. I like the fact that I can write a very personal review that may help people to cope with daily situations. However, in this regard, I have not been able to find places to post reviews about my arthritis and Fybromyalgia as of yet. But I have email mouthshut and am waiting for them to add a place. I hope that they add this area soon, because there are a lot of people out there who suffer from these diseases as I do, and I believe we could help one another out by swapping information.

I like the fact that mouthshut will add products if they don’t already have a place for them. However, some of the reviews I have sent them to add, they have not done so yet. But hopefully they will.

I like the fact that the site is attractive and the load time is quick and easy. There are many helpful categories for all sorts of information for the consumer and this is a good thing.

The staff at mouthshut has been very welcoming thus far and has made me feel very welcome. I like it when I am made to feel at home. And with mouthshut so far I have been made to feel just that, AT HOME.

I don’t like that fact that I can only write reviews with 8000 characters total. This really stinks. So, I have to edit/delete sometimes a lot to fit my review into the allowed space. Some times a person has to write detailed information about a product or disease but if that review is over 8000 characters then the review will not get posted. Then you have to go back and figure out what you can take out. This is sometimes very hard to do.

My father was diagnosed with dementia, and I have a 4 part series about it, but no place to put it on mouthshut. And I have also found that you cannot write more than one review in most cases about a product or health issue. I think that we should be able to write more than once on health issues, because sometimes we are all guilty of dealing with a health problem in our words.

So these are some things that I feel mouthshut should work on.

Thus far I have gotten no response on some emails I sent with questions, and some emails they have responded to.

It is also interesting to see their time of day on my reviews. This stunned me at first, but then I realized they are in India, (duh) and of course their time was different than mine. (EST, USA)

I also am pleased that they added a place for the WTC attacks; however, once again you could only post one review. So I posted a poem that I wrote. However, I have a review about the American Flag that I would love to post, but cannot, because there is not a place to put it.

If anyone out there knows of places to put multiple health issues or history of country please email me and let me know.

I like the fact that I can find information about products that I may be interested in purchasing. And it is very interesting to read reviews from the people who live in India. To find out about products in that country and to see how another culture feels about those products and movies, and websites, etc. There all kinds of walks of life on the mouthshut site that read, rate and write and I think it is wonderful that mouthshut reaches out across the world.

I just hope they pay when the time comes. I have not found information yet from anyone yet who have cashed out and how it went. But hopefully soon I will know this information.

Overall, I love MouthShut.com so far and hope to be a long-standing member.
