First of all, let me clarify one thing, i m not new to mouthshut site. I have been active on it for quite some time, as a non member, so my knowledege about the happening on the site is as good as that of a regular visitor of the site, if not more than him.

Recenetly, MS has revised its Star Writers (SW) List. To the best of my knowledge, Cousin2, Foreverr1, and one more lady (cant get her name or id, havent seen her before ) has become SW and i think Nik (patnik2) has been stripped of  the SW Tag. There must be other fellows too, but this is to the best of my knowledge (pls correct me if i m wrong).

Now , if we look at the guidelines mentioned in MS community Cente > Star Writer Guidelines Section , it reads :

MouthShut receives severalqueries from members, asking us if there is a specific formula that weapply in recognizing somebody as a Star Writer. We thought we’d tellyou what all we look for in a prospective Star Writer. These guidelineshave been in use since May 1, 2001.

The member should:

• Be an active member on MouthShut.com in good standing.
• Be a regular writer, with most reviews rated as Highly Recommended or Recommended by other members. • Be trusted by several members. Distrusted by few or none. • Be active in commenting and rating other members’ opinions.






If we consider above points, we will find some clear contradiction in the practical implimentation of the same.


* There are writers like amrita, kamni, afrank, who dont seem like a regular visitor of the site. Neither do they write regularly, nor do they rate and comment others reviews. Ref to their stats, some writes 2 reviews in an year, one of them hasnt written any review for abt an year, and i find their ratings or comments once in a blue moon ( pls let me know if anyone finds them more often )

*None of the reviews by Amrita and Kamini are highly recoomended by majority, they get a mix response, and and overall ’useful’ rating.Sometimes,  Kamini  manages to get an overall SU too. She also seem to have a psedo photo on her profile page, that should be agaist TOS i supppose

* A lady, who i have never seen before, has become a SW, i cant remeber her name or ID as i saw her photo -id for 1st time, i am sure u will agree with me when you will see the same. More intrestingly, she is hardly trusted by anyone (<10 i guess). I saw her review profile, and found ppl rarely comments on her reviews, and ditto for her - a few ratings and comments under her belt. So , i m unable to get the reson for her SW status.

May be we need to read the final lines under the guidelines section and console ourself. They Conclude  .... final decision on SW decided by 3 member panel - their decision is final.... blah blah :)
 

 And finally, congrats to the new SWs, Lyla finally got the highly overdued cheque cleared, as for Forever1, well, it would be good to see you write something more than the top 5 ,10 and  20 lists.
