I am not a old member or a visitor to the site. Actually i visited the site only on the 7th of this month and wrote my first review on the 20th.

Though the site is an excellent forum for spreading

your thoughts on a particular product or service, the reviewers and readers should understand that the views penned down are regarding the product and not of the reviewer in general. People sometimes  i have seen take the review or the comment too personally and tend to create a vendetta scenario for others to join in the party.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should feel free to express it but should keep in mind that this channel of communication is primarily to gauge the product and help others make a decision regarding the same. Unbiasedness is the ultimate virtue of a good critic or reviewer and though people are generally baised to the product they own and do not want to be critical or negative towards their choice they should realise that people reading the review need both sides of the coin to properly gauge the usefulness of the review. No product is perfect and thus is open to constructive criticism and that is what makes a site like this a success as it offers a open and unbiased view about the product others plan to purchase or use. Remember that others value your opinion and thus you are part of their decision making ability, hence there is a need for you to be very judicious and unbiased as to what your views are on the product you are reviewing or commenting.

Another idea i have is not to restrict the reviews on any particular product or service but to have views and opinions on any topic the member chooses, that way the forum will be a wealth of public opinion and have people from all walks of life visiting it and penning their views and thus greatly increasing the popularity and reach of the forum.

I would continue writing reviews on mouthshut as long as i keep buying and using products as me along with another 6 billion people should help others better understand and analyse what they buy before they actually do it, that is a great responsiblity we all share and should keep in mind before writing a review.
